Every love story calls for a different setting, and when Frisco contacted us about transforming a gondola at Dream Wheels into a floral-filled proposal, we knew this one would be unforgettable.
Frisco reached out just two weeks before his planned proposal date in May. His vision was clear: a garden-inspired design in soft pink and white, filled with seasonal spring flowers, personal photo frames of the couple, and a "Will You Marry Me" sign — all hidden inside a private gondola on the Dream Wheels ferris wheel at American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The most important detail? His girlfriend couldn't suspect a thing.
The plan unfolded exactly as we'd coordinated together. A casual shopping trip to American Dream Mall, a stop at the food court for snacks, and a mention of a reserved VIP pass for the ferris wheel. When the Dream Wheels staff guided them to their private gondola, his girlfriend stepped inside — and the tears started before she could even read the sign. Five framed photos of their relationship surrounded a central "Will You Marry Me" display, Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" played softly in the background, and fresh tulips, roses, and lisianthus created a garden of pink and white all around her. She said yes — and later told us that the rain pattering against the glass made the whole moment even more romantic.
Bringing a Garden Theme to Life Inside a Ferris Wheel Gondola
When most people think of garden-style proposal floral design, they picture open-air settings — estate lawns, botanical gardens, or sunlit terraces. The logistics of a surprise proposal matter just as much as the florals. No matter how stunning the design, the experience only works if the surprise itself goes off without a hitch — and that takes careful coordination between the couple, the florist, and the venue team.

On the day of Frisco's proposal, our team arrived early to set up the gondola while the couple was still shopping elsewhere in the mall. Every element — the floral arrangements, the framed photos, the signage, and the music cue for "Perfect" — was placed and tested before the gondola was locked and reserved for their private experience. The Dream Wheels staff then escorted Frisco and his girlfriend directly to the decorated gondola as part of the VIP experience, keeping the surprise completely intact.
We had been hoping for sunny spring weather, but it rained the entire week leading up to the proposal. Inside the enclosed gondola, though, the weather was irrelevant — and his fiancée later said the rain made the moment even more romantic than sunshine ever could.
